Background

NLOWE Awards Hebron Corporation of the Year

The Hebron Project has implemented a Supplier Diversity Program. The Project will consider funding first time certification fees for businesses who meet minimum requirements per National Certifying Organizations (see below) for a period of two (2) years for businesses that meet the following criteria:

1) Business is a diverse supplier that is at least 51% owned and controlled by a member(s) of one or more of the four designated groups identified in Canadian employment equity legislation:

a. Women
b. Aboriginal peoples
c. Visible minorities
d. Persons with disabilities;

2) Business is a Newfoundland and Labrador registered business;

3) Business provides a good or service that is relevant to the Project's work in any situation including but not limited to:

a. Responded to an EOI and have passed the prequalification stage;
b. Responded to an EOI, did not pass the prequalification for that scope, however it is determined that the business provides a good or service that is relevant to the Project;
c. The business has not contacted the Project in the past or responded to an EOI but the Project determines the business may provide a good or service that is relevant to the Project's work;
d. The business has been successful in acquiring a business relationship with the Project in the past and is deemed to have potential for future business opportunities.


National Certifying Organizations

There are currently national certifying organizations that cover certification for businesses owned by:


  • Aboriginal Peoples
  • Visible Minorities
  • Women

The Project will continue to look for organizations that can provide certification support to businesses owned by persons with disabilities.
